General Hermogenes Cendaña Esperon, Jr.〔(Life Story: Jun Esperon ).〕 (Philippine Military Academy "Marangal" Class of 1974) retired as the Chief of Staff, the highest position in the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP). After retiring from military service, he was appointed a member of the Cabinet of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, initially as the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process.
